Description of the Timucuan Shorebird Partnership- still being prepared.
1. Fort Clinch State Park Park contains: important nesting habitat for Wilson’s Plovers and a small colony of Least Tern; roosting habitat for large flocks of gulls, terns, and skimmers; and wintering habitat for shorebirds. (posted seasonally)
2. Amelia Island Plantation Small colony of Least Tern regularly nest along this beach. (posted if birds are present)
3. Amelia Island State Park Park contains: important nesting habitat for Wilson’s Plovers, Black Skimmers, and Least Terns; roosting habitat for gulls, terns, and skimmers; and wintering habitat for shorebirds. (posted seasonally)
4. Nassau Sound Islands Group of islands contain: nesting habitat for Wilson Plovers, American Oystercatchers, Least Terns, Black Skimmers, and Gull-billed Terns; important stop-over and wintering habitat for Piping Plovers and Red Knots. (posted seasonally)
5. Little Talbot Island State Park Park contains: nesting habitat for Wilson Plovers, American Oystercatchers, Least Terns, Black Skimmers, and Gull-billed Terns; important stop-over and wintering habitat for Piping Plovers and Red Knots. (posted seasonally)
6. Huguenot Memorial Park- Fort George Inlet Park and inlet contains: extremely important nesting habitat for Wilson Plovers, American Oystercatchers, Least Terns, Black Skimmers, Sandwich Terns, Royal Terns, Laughing Gulls, and Gull-billed Terns; important stop-over and wintering habitat for Piping Plovers and Red Knots.
